Cookies & browser storage

What this notice covers

This notice concerns the public marketing website. The authenticated Gostrax workspace and external websites may have different storage and authentication requirements. Denis Franchi is responsible for this website; questions can be sent to denis@denisfranchi.dev.

02

The homepage session preference

The homepage writes gostrax:intro-seen to sessionStorage with the value 1 after the introductory animation has been shown. It lets returning visits in the same tab skip that animation. Session storage is scoped to the site and the tab session; it normally ends when the tab or window is closed. This value contains no name, email or advertising identifier and is not sent by the marketing code to the early access endpoint.

03

Analytics and advertising

The marketing website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and understand aggregate traffic, including referring websites, approximate location, browser and device type. Vercel describes this service as cookie-free, using a request-derived visitor hash that resets daily. Gostrax does not send early access form fields to Analytics or configure custom analytics events. No advertising pixels or profiling cookies are added by the marketing source. The interactive demos operate locally in the page.

04

Hosting and external links

Hosting and network services can introduce additional technical behaviour. The final public deployment must be checked to confirm any provider-set cookies. Links to denisfranchi.dev, GitHub and other external sites are ordinary links, not embedded tracking widgets; opening them takes you to services with their own policies.

05

Your browser controls

You can inspect or clear site storage using your browser settings. Clearing the session preference may cause the homepage introduction to play again. Your system’s reduced-motion preference is read by the site to reduce animation; the site does not store that preference as a cookie.
