What you need

Use an Astro repository you are authorized to access and run. The Gostrax instance must have its GitHub integration configured. Public and private repositories can be available through the GitHub App installation.

02

Connect the GitHub App

Open New project and choose Import from GitHub. If your account is not connected, use Connect GitHub and complete the installation flow.

  1. Select the GitHub account or organization that owns the repository.
  2. Authorize the repositories you want available to Gostrax.
  3. Return to the import dialog after completing the connection.
03

Choose the repository and branch

Search the available repositories, select your project and choose its branch. Complete the project name and import fields, review the trust confirmation and submit the import.

04

Inspect the imported workspace

Open Overview and confirm the repository and branch. In Files, inspect the Astro pages, components and configuration. Open Build to inspect the preview when the workspace is ready.

  1. Check that the selected branch contains the intended version of the site.
  2. Review the source before making a change.
  3. If preview startup fails, check the project’s dependencies, configuration and runtime requirements.
05

Keep your project files portable

Gostrax can export the saved project files as a ZIP, including source, assets and configuration. Dependencies, build output and secret environment files are excluded.
